Job Description

We are recruiting for a Facilities Manager to join a residential and nursing care provider based in Bromley. You will be responsible for overseeing 5 care homes around Kent and London and will provide line management to the Facilities Team, as well as ensuring the homes meet all compliance and Health and Safety standards.

The Role

  • Manage the facilities team in their delivery of day to day refurbishment and maintenance support in all of the care homes, ensuring that the home environments are safe and stimulating for both our residents and staff
  • Plan and coordinate any major works to be undertaken internally or externally by contractors
  • Manage and monitor the regular testing and recording of systems and equipment
  • Manage budgets for the facilities operation
  • Work with the Operations Director in monitoring Health and Safety and Risk Management in all premises and practices 
  • The writing and review of risk assessments
  • Carry out and record regular routine inspections of all sites
  • Monitor all Health and Safety compliance for the care homes, including, fire, legionella, gas, electrics and asbestos

Experience

  • It is desirable that the post-holder has relevant industry qualifications
  • Coach and mentor to support team members’ development and performance
  • Focus on ensuring that delivering a quality service is at the heart of everything that is done by their team
  • Takes personal responsibility for their team working at all times to the highest standard possible, meeting or exceeding what is required
  • Take ownership for resolving issues
  • At all times communicate with colleagues, business partners, residents, relatives and in a constructive and respectful manner
  • Communicate effectively and assertively, adapting style to suit the situation and audience
  • Undertake and co-ordinate regular development activities including on the job, mandatory training, relevant courses and qualifications
