Job Description

Our client, a commercial cleaning service provider based in Cambridge, requires an excellent Regional Operations Manager to oversee the cleaning operations for Cambridgeshire and Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving quality performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies. They will also manage a team of managers, specialist cleaning operatives and direct reports.

The Role

  • Ensuring that all operations are executed in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements
  • Improving operational management systems, processes and best practices that guarantee organisational well-being
  • To proactively and appropriately recruit, train, motivate and equip the team to ensure client's are consistently met
  • To manage the cost-effective delivery of a high-quality cleaning service to approximately 120 client sites in and around the Cambridge area
  • To effectively manage the mobilisation of both new contracts and amendments to existing contract service in designated areas
  • To establish, develop and nurture positive client relationships to promote customer contract retention whilst actively driving periodic, additional service provision and one-off sales to existing clients
  • To effectively plan and allocate resource to ensure continuity of service is maintained within set budgets to meet profit levels as agreed
  • To manage the audit of payroll submissions to maintain accuracy and profitability levels as agreed
  • To uphold health and safety compliance on all designated sites


  • GCSE Level standard in English and Mathematics and IOSH Managing Safely are essential
  • Previous operational / area management experience of multi-site portfolio in cleaning, facilities or soft services industry
  • Excellent leadership and motivational people management skills
  • Full UK Driving License is essential
  • Proven working knowledge of MS Office products such as Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of employment law matters (i.e. the Equality Act), recruitment and data protection
  • Experience of budget and performance management
  • Project management skills
